SIMON SHAW (DIP HOMOTOX BRCP) 1971-2021
Mega Mane was created by Simon as a result of witnessing directly the emotional impact of poor hair health on clients at his holistic medicine clinic in Northern Ireland.
Many of his customers were women navigating menopause and struggling with one of the most common symptoms associated with it - diffuse thinning of the hair - commonly diagnosed by medical professionals as Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL) or androgenetic alopecia.
Others, including some anxious new mums, were focused on reducing exposure to synthetic substances that could cause side-effects. Simon saw a deep and instinctive impulse to avoid the use of harsh chemicals and pharmaceuticals whilst trying to manage both the physical and psychological effects of loss, breakage, brittleness and poor growth.
All were frustrated by the lack of effective natural products available to support their hair health.
Simon applied the knowledge and insights he had gained as a natural health practitioner to produce an expertly crafted blend of traditional herbal ingredients designed to target the root causes of these problems and support long-term hair health from the inside out.
Horsetail extract, a natural source of bio-available silica, is combined with omega-3-rich ground Flaxseed in an easy to swallow capsule, fortifying the hair with quality nutrients that nourish and boost from within.
Featured in the Belfast Telegraph following its launch in 2016, Mega Mane soon built up a strong following throughout Northern Ireland and evidence of the supplement's success was soon obtained through an influx of written testimonials.
Subsequent to Simon's tragic passing in 2021, Mega Mane is now sold exclusively online and a new brand identity has been created to reflect a philosophy of haircare that is deeply rooted in nature.

As husband and wife, Simon and I shared a lifelong commitment to traditional herbal medicine.
Simon's vision for Mega Mane was to create a trusted, customer-focused brand and today as Mega Mane's director, I want to preserve Simon's legacy by championing Mega Mane as an effective, pharmaceutical-free herbal supplement for men and women suffering with hair loss and the significant emotional distress which so often accompanies it.
What started as Simon's vision has become my mission - to preserve his work, honour his values and uphold our belief in natural remedies.
