Glitter Balls

Glitter Balls

Tucked into the snug corner seat of my favourite coffee shop, I quietly observe the passing world.  It is exactly two weeks to Christmas and there is a fuse of excitement charging the air.  Glitter balls swing merrily from the whitewashed ceiling and bejewelled chains criss-cross windowpanes, illuminated by a pale, eastern sky.  Three years ago my daughters and I spent a morning here, being snapped by Dublin based photographer Doreen Kilfeather as she expertly created visuals for Mega Mane's website, featuring the landscape of the Mourne Mountains as a symbol of natural strength and resilience, integral to our brand identity.

In the three years which followed, we took time to consider our business direction and to heal from a most painful loss.

Wary of inauthenticity, we have been cautious about social media, but it is an inevitability for an online business and we hope that Mega Mane will grow a swishy ponytail of Instagram followers in 2026.  It's a perfect platform to share Doreen's gorgeous photos and give more exposure to Mega Mane as we recognise the huge demand for natural and effective ways to manage hair loss and to boost hair growth.

I am looking forward to 2026 and developing the business to better serve Mega Mane's customers.  In response to demand, a subscription option will be introduced, offering a real benefit in terms of both convenience and cost and our focus will be on sharing insights on all aspects of haircare through our Strands of Conversation forum as well as bringing our customer experiences to life.

For now, as we spin like those glitter balls towards Christmas, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all who have supported this small, Northern Irish business through thick and thin.  Your reports of strengthened hair, increased hair growth and improved hair condition revealed not just a reason but a need to keep the business alive, amid a storm of grief.

Sending each of you my best and most heartfelt wishes for a Joyful and Merry Christmas.

x Leona
